Editorial policy
Accuracy and sources
Every fact is checked against its primary source before publication: HMRC, Companies House, GOV.UK, legislation.gov.uk, the professional bodies, or the person quoted. Where we rely on a secondary source we say so.
Labelling
Each article is labelled by type. News reports what has happened. Analysis explains what it means. Explainers set out how a rule works. Opinion is the named author's view.
Dates and updates
Every article shows when it was first published. When we change its substance we show the time of the update, and when we correct an error we say what was wrong (see corrections).
Independence and ethics
Minns Insights is published by Minns. Our journalists decide what we cover and what we say. We do not take payment for coverage, and we name Minns as our owner whenever we mention its products.
Not advice
Our articles report and explain; they are not tax, legal or financial advice for a particular case.
