Every date you must not miss, each one saying where it came from.
VAT, Companies House, corporation tax, payroll and your own deadlines in one calendar for the business. Where HMRC or Companies House can tell Minns the date, theirs is the one you see, labelled as theirs. The rest are worked out from the rules and labelled too, so nothing you rely on is a guess you cannot check.
Dates from HMRC's VAT obligations, the Companies House register and your books.

Due soon means within 14 days. Example company and dates, as seen on 12 October 2026.
The calendar as it opens: what is due, when, and on whose word. Example names and dates.
HMRC's date when HMRC says it, the register's when it says it.
Once HMRC is connected, your VAT dates are HMRC's own obligations for your VAT number, read through its Making Tax Digital API, never from its website. Give Minns your company number and the accounts and confirmation statement dates come from the Companies House register.
Where neither can answer, the date is worked out. VAT is estimated from the period your books hold, one month and seven days after it ends. Corporation tax, payroll and the rest follow the statutory rules from your year end. Every date carries one label: from HMRC, from Companies House, standard date, estimated, or you added.
- HMRC and the register are asked at most every six hours, or straight away when you press refresh.
- If one could not be reached, the calendar says why.
- Your year end is the one you enter, else your books', else the register's.

The dates for the business you actually run.
A company sees its accounts and confirmation statement, directors' identity verification, the corporation tax payment nine months and a day after the year end and the CT600 twelve months after. If you run a payroll, the submission on or before each payday, P60s by 31 May, P11D by 6 July, and pension re-enrolment every three years from the date you give it.
A sole trader or landlord sees the Self Assessment return on 31 January, or, if you are in Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, the quarterly updates and the final declaration. Add your own dates too, once or every year: an insurance renewal, a licence, a lease break.
- MTD for Income Tax dates are the standard ones from the 2026 to 2027 tax year; HMRC is asked for VAT only.
- Directors' identity verification is placed on your first confirmation statement after 18 November 2025, or a date you enter.
- The calendar looks 90 days back and about 16 months ahead.

Two weeks before, three days before, on the day.
Each deadline that is not done sends a reminder 14 days out, 3 days out, on the day, and once overdue, for up to 30 days. They go to everyone on your team who runs the business, owners, admins and operators, in the app and as a push to their phone, and each person hears each one once.
The next few dates within a month sit on your home screen. If your assistant has a morning job, its report carries a line with the deadlines this fortnight, from what HMRC and the register last said.
- A deadline marked done stops its reminders.
- Nobody is signed up by opening the screen: the calendar is kept from the first thing you tell it.
- A deadline you added can be changed or removed; one from HMRC or the register cannot.

Confirmation statement due in 3 days
Confirmation statement is due on Sat 14 Nov 2026 (from Companies House). Mark it done in Deadlines once it is in.
Marked done on the authority's word, so the calendar can be trusted.
When HMRC shows a VAT obligation as fulfilled, or the register shows the period filed, the deadline is done by the authority and cannot be unmarked by mistake. Anything else, you mark done yourself, or undo it if you were early.
Your assistant can read the calendar and tell you what is coming, but it marks a deadline done only with the authority's confirmation as the reference. Filing and paying stay with you and your accountant: the calendar keeps track, it never files.
- A done mark keeps who made it and the reference.
- Fulfilled VAT obligations show as done the next time HMRC is read.
Your assistant
The VAT return went in this morning. Tick it off.
Do you have HMRC's reference for it? I mark a deadline done only with the authority's confirmation, since the business relies on the mark. Once HMRC shows the obligation as fulfilled, it is marked done for you anyway.
It is 384729105634.
Done: VAT return and payment for July to September, HMRC reference 384729105634. The payment is still yours to make by 7 November.
From two weeks out to done, in the order it happens.
One date for one company. Minns tracks it and reminds the right people; you file it with Companies House.
12 OCT
On the calendar
The confirmation statement is due on 14 November, from the Companies House register. It carries directors' identity verification with it this year.
31 OCT
Two weeks out
You, your co-director and your office manager each get a reminder in the app and on your phones. The date moves to due soon.
11 NOV
Three days out
A second reminder to the same three people. On the day itself there would be a third.
12 NOV
Filed
You file the statement with Companies House yourself, two days early.
12 NOV
Done on the register's word
The register shows the statement made, so the deadline is marked done by Companies House and cannot be unticked. The next date follows from the register.

What the assistant may do on its own, and what only you, or someone you choose, may do.
The assistant may
- Read your deadlines and tell you what is due and when.
- Explain where a date came from, and what a filing needs.
- Mark a deadline done, only with the authority's reference.
- Add the fortnight's deadlines to its morning report.
Only you may
- File with HMRC or Companies House, or have your accountant do it.
- Pay HMRC.
- Connect HMRC, and give your company number, year end and payroll day.
- Add your own deadlines, or mark one done without a reference.
Straight answers.
- Do I have to connect HMRC?
- No. Without it, your VAT dates are estimated from your books, one month and seven days after each period, and labelled estimated. Connected, they are HMRC's own obligations for your VAT number.
- Where do the Companies House dates come from?
- From the public register, through the Companies House API, when a key is set up for your account or the platform. Without one, you enter the dates and they are labelled as yours.
- Who gets the reminders?
- Everyone on your team who runs the business: owners, admins and operators. Each gets each reminder once, in the app and as a push to their phone.
- Does Minns file or pay anything?
- No. The calendar keeps track and reminds. Filing and paying are yours or your accountant's.
- Can a deadline be ticked off by mistake?
- You can mark one done and undo it. One that HMRC or Companies House shows as done stays done, and your assistant marks one done only with the authority's reference.
