Apps · Microsoft Teams

Your assistant in Microsoft Teams, with approvals you decide on the card.

Chat with your assistant from Teams as you would in the Minns app, in the same conversation. When something needs your yes, it comes to your chat as a card with Approve and Decline, and you decide there.

Works with Microsoft Teams for work or school, once your organisation's admin has added the Minns app.

An approval as a Teams card. Example names and figures.

    01 · Chat

Your chat with the bot is your conversation with your assistant.

Once you have linked, what you send the Minns bot in your own chat with it goes to your assistant, in the same conversation as the Minns app. Answers come back to the chat, and so do jobs that finish later, while Teams is the last place you wrote from.

In a group chat or a channel, mention the bot to ask the organisation's assistant a question. That answer is public to the people there, and it is never your own conversation, even once you have linked.

    • Your own chat with the bot: your conversation, your access.
    • A mention in a group chat or channel: a public answer, nothing from your conversation.
    • Unlink from the Minns app at any time.
    02 · Approval cards

Read what will happen, then approve or decline in place.

When your assistant needs your yes, the card shows who is asking, what for and the detail of the request. Press Approve or Decline and the card changes to say what happened: done, still being carried out, or why it could not be.

Only someone linked and allowed to decide for the account can press it. If a colleague got there first, the card says who decided and where. Deciding in Teams settles the same request everywhere else it was sent.

    • A long request is cut short on the card, and the card says to open it in Minns before you approve.
    • A card sent to someone who cannot decide says so, and changes nothing.
    • Turn approval notices on messaging channels off in your settings if you prefer the app.
    Setting it up

Once for your organisation, then a minute for each person.

An admin turns Teams on for the business. Then each person links their own Teams.

    1. ADMIN

Add the Minns app to Teams

Your Teams admin uploads the Minns app in the Teams admin center and allows it for the people who should use it.

    2. ADMIN

      Turn on Teams in Minns

An owner or admin of your Minns account pastes your organisation's tenant id under Account, Microsoft Teams, and turns it on.

    3. YOU

      Link your Teams

In the Minns app, open your assistant, Use it in other apps, Teams. If you sign in to Minns with Microsoft, press Link Teams automatically. Otherwise send the code to the Minns bot, for example link ABCD-EFGH.

    4. YOU

      Chat and approve

Your chat with the bot is now your conversation with your assistant, and approvals come to you there as cards.

The code is an example. It works once, for 10 minutes.

    Who decides

It does the work. You make the calls.

What the assistant may do on its own, and what only you, or someone you choose, may do.

    The assistant may

    • Answer you in your own chat with the Minns bot.
    • Send approval requests to you as cards.
    • Answer a mention in a group chat or channel, publicly, without your conversation.

    Only you may

    • Add the app to your organisation and turn Teams on (an admin).
    • Link your own Teams, and unlink it.
    • Press Approve or Decline.
    Questions owners ask first

    Straight answers.

Is Minns in the Teams app store?
Not yet. Your Teams admin adds the Minns app to your organisation by uploading the Minns app package in the Teams admin center.
Can someone else approve from my card?
No. The card works only for someone linked to the account and allowed to decide. Anyone else is told so, and nothing changes.
Can several Minns accounts use one Teams organisation?
One Minns account per organisation. If another account already uses Teams for yours, contact us.
Will it join in our channel conversations?
No. It answers only messages that mention it, and it answers those publicly without using anyone's own conversation.

    Give your business an assistant.

Connect your mail, calendar and books in a few minutes. It works the way you do, and asks before it acts in your name.
