Apps · Text messages

Text your assistant, from the phone you already have.

Link your phone once in the Minns app, then plain text messages reach your assistant. No other app, no data needed for the texts themselves. When one thing is waiting for your yes, reply yes or no.

Works with any mobile phone that sends texts.

A bare yes decides an approval when exactly one is waiting for you. Example names and figures.

    01 · One conversation

A text is a message in your conversation with your assistant.

Once your phone is linked, what you text your assistant's number goes into your own conversation, the same one as the Minns app, marked as a text. The answer comes back as a text, and jobs that finish later come back by text too while it is the last place you wrote from.

Your assistant has a number of its own, or uses a shared Minns number. On a shared number, a phone nobody has linked is only told how to link. On your assistant's own number, a stranger is answered as a member of the public would be, with nothing from your conversations.

    • A long answer arrives in a few texts.
    • Unlink from the Minns app at any time.

    Example number.

    02 · Approve by reply

Yes or no, when it can only mean one thing.

When something needs your yes, the notice comes by text with what it is for and two links. If it is the only approval waiting for you, a plain yes or no in reply decides it, and your assistant texts back what happened.

If two or more are waiting, it does not guess which you meant: it texts you the link to decide each one in the app. Each link works once and lasts 72 hours, and deciding anywhere settles it everywhere.

    • Yes, y or approve to approve. No, n, reject or deny to refuse.
    • A yes only counts for a notice that reached this phone.
    • Turn approval notices on messaging channels off in your settings if you prefer the app.

Reply yes or no when it is the only approval waiting for you.

    03 · STOP means stop

The usual words work, and they are kept to.

Send STOP and nothing more is sent to your phone unasked: no notices, no finished jobs, nothing. Send START, or yes, when you want them again. HELP tells you what the number is.

Every text in and out uses a small number of credits, so it shows in your usage as one Text messages line a day, and you can see what texting costs you.

    • STOP covers every assistant that phone is linked to by text.
    • Unsubscribe, cancel, end and quit count as STOP too.
    Setting it up

Linked in a minute, with a code.

Done once, from the Minns app. After that, texting is all it takes.

    1. 1

Open your assistant in the app

In the Minns app, choose Use it in other apps, then Link my phone.

    2. 2

      Enter your mobile number

A six-digit code is texted to it. It works once, for 10 minutes.

    3. 3

      Enter the code

Type the code into the app and your phone is linked. You can also text link and a code from the app to your assistant's number instead.

    4. 4

      Text your assistant

Save the number it shows and text it as you would anyone.

    The code is an example.

    Who decides

It does the work. You make the calls.

What the assistant may do on its own, and what only you, or someone you choose, may do.

    The assistant may

    • Answer your texts in your own conversation.
    • Text you approval notices, finished jobs and scheduled results, until you send STOP.
    • Text back what happened when you reply yes or no.

    Only you may

    • Link your phone, and unlink it.
    • Approve or refuse, by reply or by link.
    • Send STOP, and START again.
    Questions owners ask first

    Straight answers.

Do I need the Minns app?
Only once, to link your phone. After that, texting your assistant's number is all it takes.
If I link my phone for texts, is WhatsApp linked too?
No. WhatsApp is linked separately, by sending a code from WhatsApp itself.
Can a stranger text my assistant?
On a shared Minns number, an unlinked phone is only told how to link. On your assistant's own number, a stranger gets the public answer it gives callers, with no memory of you and nothing from your conversations. Only your linked phone reaches your own conversation.
    Does it cost extra?
Each text in and out uses a small number of credits, shown as one Text messages line a day in your usage.

    Give your business an assistant.

Connect your mail, calendar and books in a few minutes. It works the way you do, and asks before it acts in your name.
